Google Pixel 10 Pro vs Samsung Galaxy S25: Design

Both of these smartphones are quite boxy, well, other than their corners. The corners are rounded on both phones, but their front, back, and sides are flat. Both of them are made out of aluminum and glass, but the Samsung Galaxy S25 is a bit more compact. It’s shorter, narrower, and thinner, as it does come with a slightly smaller display. It’s also a lot lighter at 162 grams. The Google Pixel 10 Pro weighs 207 grams.

With that being said, you’ll notice a centered display camera hole at the top of both of these displays. The camera hole is smaller on the Galaxy S25, though. That phone also has a higher screen-to-body ratio, which also contributes to its more compact build. Both phones do have uniform bezels around those displays. On the right-hand side, you’ll find physical buttons on both phones. The Pixel 10 Pro has a power/lock button above the volume up and down keys. The Galaxy S25 has a power/lock button below the volume rocker keys. Those buttons are quite clicky on both phones, by the way.

If we flip them around, you’ll notice considerably different camera setups. The Pixel 10 Pro has a camera bar, which is horizontal, and placed at the top of the back side. The Galaxy S25 has three separate camera islands on the back, in the top-left corner. Those islands are vertically-oriented, and each of them protrudes directly from the backplate. Each island is its own camera. Both phones have three cameras on the back. Both devices are also IP68 certified for water and dust resistance.

The Samsung Galaxy S25 features a 6.2-inch Dynamic LTPO AMOLED 2X display. That panel is also flat, and it has an adaptive refresh rate (1-120Hz). HDR10+ content is supported, while the peak brightness is 2,600 nits. The screen-to-body ratio is at around 91%, while the display aspect ratio is 19.5:9. The resolution you’re working here is 2340 x 1080 pixels, while the Gorilla Glass Victus 2 protects this panel.

Both of these displays are perfectly fine, actually. They’re both vivid and sharp, while the viewing angles are also good. The refresh rate is solid on both phones, while they’re both also quite bright. The blacks are also deep. The Pixel 10 Pro does have the advantage of being sharper, which is not something most people will notice. It also gets brighter than the Galaxy S25’s panel, but both will be bright enough for almost anyone.

Google Pixel 10 Pro vs Samsung Galaxy S25: Performance

Google’s new Tensor G5 chip is fueling the Pixel 10 Pro. That is a new 3nm chip, and the first Tensor made by TSMC. That chip is backed by 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM inside this smartphone. Google is also using UFS 4.0 flash storage, finally. The Galaxy S25 is fueled by the Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy, that is Qualcomm’s 3nm chip. It is an overclocked version of the Snapdragon 8 Elite. It is backed by 12GB of LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.0 flash storage. Neither phone supports storage expansion.

What about gaming? The Samsung Galaxy S25 will definitely be better in that regard, as its hardware is aimed more towards gaming. If you’re planning to play demanding titles, the Galaxy S25 is the better choice. If you’ll play not-so-demanding games, it really doesn’t matter which one you end up choosing.

Google Pixel 10 Pro vs Samsung Galaxy S25: Battery

The Google Pixel 10 Pro includes a 4,870mAh battery on the inside. The Galaxy S25, on the other hand, has a 4,000mAh battery. Yes, the Pixel 10 Pro does include a much larger battery even though its display is only slightly larger. We haven’t really tested the phone’s battery life just yet, you’ll have to wait for our full review. What we do know is what kind of battery life the Galaxy S25 offers.

That phone has a passable battery life, but not great. It will be fine if you’re not a power user, but if you are, you likely won’t get to the end of the day. 6+ hours of battery life is what we’ve been able to get, but it all depends on your usage. We’re expecting the Pixel 10 Pro to do notably better in that regard, but who knows, we’ll have to wait and see.

What about charging? Well, the Google Pixel 10 Pro supports 30W wired and 15W wireless (Qi2) charging. There is no reverse wireless or reverse wired charging here. The Galaxy S25, on the other hand, supports 25W wired, 15W (Qi2 ready) wireless, and 4.5W reverse wireless charging. Neither phone will charge particularly fast, while neither of them has a charger in the box either. The Pixel 10 Pro does have magnets built in, for proper Qi2 charging.

Google Pixel 10 Pro vs Samsung Galaxy S25: Cameras

The Google Pixel 10 Pro includes three cameras on the back. A 50-megapixel main camera (1/1.31-inch sensor size) is backed by a 48-megapixel ultrawide camera (1/2.55-inch sensor size, 123-degree FoV). The Samsung Galaxy S25, on the other hand, also has three cameras on the back. The main camera is a 50-megapixel unit (1/1.56-inch sensor size), while the ultrawide camera utilizes a 12-megapixel sensor (1/2.55-inch sensor size, 120-degree FoV). A 10-megapixel telephoto camera (1/3.94-inch sensor size, 3x optical zoom) is the third unit on the back.

From what we’re seeing thus far, the Pixel 10 Pro does offer better performance across the board. You’ll get all the necessary details in our full review, which is coming, but the photos are generally better balanced and offer more details. Low-light performance is also better across all three cameras, actually. The Galaxy S25 is not bad, but Samsung really needs to improve the camera hardware.

Audio

Both of these devices include stereo speakers. Neither phone will break records for speaker loudness, but the loudness is good, especially considering the size of these devices. They’re on the same level. The sound quality is good on both ends.

There is no audio jack on either of the two devices. You can utilize their Type-C ports for connecting wired headphones. Alternatively, the Pixel 10 Pro supports Bluetooth 6.0, while the Galaxy S25 has Bluetooth 5.4 support.
