OnePlus 15 vs OPPO Find X9 Pro: Design

From a design standpoint, the two phones are very similar. Even when you look at them side-by-side, you’ll notice that. There are some subtle differences, like the larger camera island on the Find X9 Pro, but they’re very similar. Both smartphones include a centered display camera hole up top and very thin bezels all around. Those bezels are also uniform, by the way.. From the front, the two phones look basically the same.

The frame around both smartphones is flat, for the most part. It does curve a bit towards the edges. You’ll find the power/lock and volume rocker buttons on the right-hand side of both smartphones. The OPPO Find X9 Pro has an extra button on the right and also on the left side. The OnePlus 15 has an extra button on the left side only, the Action Button, the same as the OPPO Find X9 Pro.

If we flip the two phones around, you’ll see two fairly similar camera islands in the top-left corner. Both of those include three cameras on the inside, but the Find X9 Pro’s is larger, and it has the Hasselblad branding in there. The camera cutouts are also a bit different, so they’re easy to differentiate. The backplate on both smartphones is made out of glass, and it’s flat. The frame is made out of aluminum, by the way, that also goes for both devices.

The OnePlus 15 is IP68 and IP69K certified, while the OPPO Find X9 Pro comes with IP68 and IP69 certifications. Both of them offer great ingress protection, needless to say. Both smartphones are also very slippery in the hand.

OnePlus 15 vs OPPO Find X9 Pro: Display

Both of these smartphones have a 6.78-inch LTPO AMOLED display with a 2772 x 1272 resolution. Both of those displays are flat, and they both can project up to 1 billion colors. High-frequency PWM dimming is also available on both, and the same goes for Dolby Vision, HDR10+, and HDR Vivid support. Both panels also get immensely bright when needed, so no worries about that.

OnePlus 15

The screen-to-body ratio is around 91% on both devices, while both of them offer a high refresh rate too. The OnePlus 15 offers up to 165Hz refresh rate, though only for gaming. The OPPO Find X9 Pro’s refresh rate is limited to 120Hz. Both displays are protected by the Gorilla Glass Victus 2, and both of them offer outstanding viewing angles. The touch response is also great on both phones.

Needless to say, both of these displays are also plenty sharp, so that’s not an issue either. You can tweak both of them via the settings, and both of them have a blue light filter as well, amongst other options to safeguard your eyes. There’s really nothing to complain about here, in all honesty. These are some of the best displays out there.

OnePlus 15 vs OPPO Find X9 Pro: Performance

What about the performance? Well, both smartphones offer outstanding performance, actually. In fact, you’ll get a somewhat similar experience on both. Why? The software experience is very similar, as are the performance-related hardware components. Both smartphones are fueled by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor, the most powerful chip that Qualcomm has to offer at the moment.

Both devices also offer up to 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM and utilize UFS 4.1 flash storage. They offer blazing-fast performance on a day-to-day basis, no matter how hard you push them. They can multitask like nobody’s business, no problem. The animations are also great, as they have been improved compared to the last versions of OxygenOS and ColorOS. We were unable to get either phone to lag or anything close to it.

When it comes to gaming, both are outstanding. Both phones have proper cooling systems, and they never got too hot during our testing. Even when were were playing truly demanding games for longer periods of time, the performance was consistent and great. The OnePlus 15 is a more gaming-oriented phone, but both did an equally impressive job. They do get warm, but not hot, or too hot.

OnePlus 15 vs OPPO Find X9 Pro: Battery

Both of these phones also have truly impressive battery capacities and battery life in general. The OnePlus 15 includes a 7,300mAh battery on the inside, while the OPPO Find X9 Pro comes with a 7,500mAh battery. Both of those are silicon-carbon battery packs. Needless to say, these battery packs dwarf what the competitors from Samsung, Apple, Google, among others, have to offer.

The battery life does reflect these battery capacities, actually. These are easily some of the best battery life smartphones that we’ve ever used when it comes to high-end smartphones. Getting a full day’s worth of battery life, even with extremely heavy use, is no problem for either phone. For many people, both of these smartphones will be able to deliver a two-day battery life, in all honesty. We were often ending our days with over half a tank of juice left, even after rather demanding days.

The OnePlus 15 supports 120W wired charging, along with 50W wireless charging, 10W reverse wireless charging, and 5W reverse wired charging. The OPPO Find X9 Pro supports 80W wired, 50W wireless, and 10W reverse wireless charging. Both also support 55W PPS wired charging if you don’t have the original charger. Speaking of which, both do generally come with a charger, but that could be market-dependent.

OnePlus 15 vs OPPO Find X9 Pro: Cameras

The camera setups are quite a bit different between the two phones. The OPPO Find X9 Pro definitely has the upper hand when it comes to camera hardware. The OnePlus 15 includes a 50-megapixel main camera (1/1.56-inch sensor size), along with a 50-megapixel ultrawide snapper (1/2.88-inch sensor size), and a 50-megapixel periscope telephoto camera (1/2.76-inch sensor size, 3.5x optical zoom).

OPPO Find X9 Pro

The OPPO Find X9 Pro, on the other hand, is backed by Hasselblad. It includes a 50-megapixel main camera (1/1.28-inch sensor size), along with a 50-megapixel ultrawide unit (1/2.76-inch sensor size), and a 200-megapixel periscope telephoto snapper (1/1.56-inch sensor size, 3x optical zoom). Laser autofocus and color spectrum sensors are available on both smartphones, by the way.

While the OnePlus 15 does a wonderful job in terms of capturing photos in all lighting conditions, the OPPO Find X9 Pro does a better job across the board. The difference is not as big as the camera sensors may indicate, but it’s definitely noticeable. That is especially true for the periscope telephoto camera, by the way, where you’ll see the biggest difference between the two phones. Both of them do provide nice, contrasty shots with plenty of detail, though.

Audio

You’ll find a set of stereo speakers on both of these smartphones. The speakers on the OnePlus 15 are louder, though, which is something you may notice, but both sets are plenty loud. The output quality is excellent on both phones, though.

There is no audio jack on either phone, unfortunately. You can hook up your wired headphones via the Type-C port, though. Alternatively, both smartphones support Bluetooth 6.0 for wireless audio connectivity.
