OnePlus has recently launched its flagship to global markets. The phone’s name is the OnePlus 15, and we already have a review out there for you to check out. With that being said, we’re here to compare that phone with the very best Samsung has to offer. In other words, we’ll be comparing the OnePlus 15 vs Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra . These two smartphones are quite different, actually. Yes, they’re both large-format flagships, and there are some similarities, but for the most part, they do differ quite a bit. We’ll first list the specs of both smartphones, and then move to some other categories. We’ll compare their designs, displays, performance, battery life, cameras, and audio output. With that being said, let’s get to it.

OnePlus 15 vs Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra: Design
Both of these smartphones are made out of metal and glass. The thing is, the Galaxy S25 Ultra uses titanium for its frame, while the OnePlus 15 relies on aluminum. The shame of the two phones is also different. The Galaxy S25 Ultra has sharper corners. Both smartphones do include flat displays with a centered display camera up top. The bezels are extremely thin on both of them, and also uniform.
Their sides are kind of similar, as they’re mostly flat, and curve up slightly towards the edges. The OnePlus 15 has power/lock and volume rocker keys on the right side, while the ‘Plus Key’ sits on the left. That multifunctional button replaces the alert slider. The Galaxy S25 Ultra, on the other hand, includes power/lock and volume rocker keys only, and all of them are located on the right side.
If we flip them around, you’ll notice considerably different backplates. Granted, both are flat on the back, but their camera setups are very different. The OnePlus 15 has a camera island in the top-left corner, with three cameras on the inside. That camera module is kind of squarish with rounded corners. The Galaxy S25 Ultra has cameras in the top-left corner too, four of them, and five cutouts. The thing is, its cameras protrude directly from the backplate.
The Galaxy S25 Ultra does have a slightly larger display in comparison, and is taller, wider, and thicker than the OnePlus 15. The difference is very small on all accounts, though. Their dimensions are very similar. The same goes for weight, as the Galaxy S25 Ultra is slightly heavier. The OnePlus 15 is IP68/IP69K certified, while the Galaxy S25 Ultra has inferior IP68 rating. Both phones are very slippery, by the way.
OnePlus 15 vs Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra: Display
The OnePlus 15 features a 6.78-inch LTPO AMOLED display. That panel is flat, and it supports up to 1 billion colors. Its refresh rate goes up to 165Hz (from 1Hz), while Dolby Vision and HDR10+ content are supported. It also supports a very high PWM dimming, it dwarves the Galaxy S25 Ultra in that regard. The peak brightness of this display is immensely high. You’re getting a 2772 x 1272 resolution here. The display aspect ratio is 19.5:9, while the Gorilla Glass Victus 2 protects the display.

Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra
The Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra, on the other hand, includes a 6.9-inch Dynamic LTPO AMOLED 2X display. That panel is flat and has an adaptive refresh rate (1-120Hz). The peak brightness is 2,600 nits, lower than what the OnePlus 15 offers, but this panel gets immensely bright. The resolution here is 3120 x 1440, while the display aspect ratio is 19.5:9. The Gorilla Glass Armor 2 protects this panel.
Both of these displays are outstanding. They’re not only vivid and bright, but have great viewing angles too. The touch response is good, while both are very smooth. The OnePlus 15’s display does get brighter, technically, while it also has the advantage in terms of high-frequency PWM dimming. It can also reach a higher refresh rate while you’re gaming. The Galaxy S25 Ultra’s panel is a bit sharper (though you won’t notice that), plus its display protection is better for fighting off glare.
OnePlus 15 vs Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra: Performance
The OnePlus 15 is fueled by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor. That is the most powerful chip Qualcomm has to offer. It’s a 3nm processor, and it’s paired with 12GB/16GB of LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.1 flash storage. The Galaxy S25 Ultra is fueled by the Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy SoC, a 3nm chip. That processor is paired with 12GB of LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.0 flash storage. Neither phone supports storage expansion.
The OnePlus 15 does come with a more powerful chip, more RAM, and newer and faster storage. While both smartphones are immensely snappy during use, you can notice the difference when you compare them directly. The OnePlus 15 is usually a bit faster. That small difference will not really bother the vast majority of you, as both smartphones are very fluid, there’s really no problem with day-to-day performance.
When it comes to gaming, well, both are excellent. Both of them can run basically any game you throw at them. The thing is, the OnePlus 15 is a bit more oriented towards gaming, It comes with better cooling, provides a higher refresh rate for some games, and it has a more elaborate gaming software. It does stay cooler during more intense gaming sessions. Still, overhating was not a problem for either phone, so… they can both handle games.
OnePlus 15 vs Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra: Battery
The OnePlus 15 includes a 7,300mAh silicon-carbon battery, providing plenty of juice. The Galaxy S25 Ultra, on the other hand, has a 5,000mAh battery, despite the fact it has a slightly larger display. Many of you know by now that the Galaxy S25 Ultra offers great battery life. Well, yes, it does, but its battery life is inferior to the OnePlus 15, and it’s not even close. The OnePlus 15 is one of the best flagships in terms of battery life that we’ve tested.
Let me just put it this way, after slightly over 7 hours of screen-on-time with the OnePlus 15, we were left with half the battery tank left. The Galaxy S25 Ultra would be in its last quarter at that point, at best. In all honesty, for most of you, both smartphones will do the trick. If you really want a phone that keeps on going and is better of the two in terms of battery life, the OnePlus 15 is the way to go.
What about charging? Well, that’s another section where the OnePlus 15 wins. The phone supports 120W wired (80W in the US), 50W wireless, 10W reverse wireless, and 5W reverse wired charging. The Galaxy S25 Ultra supports 45W wired, 15W wireless (Qi2 ready), and 4.5W reverse wireless charging. The OnePlus 15 can be fully charged in 40 minutes, while the Galaxy S25 Ultra takes an our to get there, with a compatible charger. Also, the OnePlus 15 does ship with a charger in the retail box (at least in the US), while the Galaxy S25 Ultra does not.
OnePlus 15 vs Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra: Cameras
The OnePlus 15 has three cameras on the back. In fact, it has three 50-megapixel cameras. The main camera uses a 1/1.56-inch sensor size. Its 50-megapixel ultrawide camera uses a 1/2.88-inch sensor size and offers a 116-degree FoV. A 50-megapixel periscope telephoto camera (1/2.76-inch sensor size, 3.5x optical zoom) also sits on the back.

OnePlus 15
The Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra, on the other hand, features a 200-megapixel main camera (1/1.3-inch sensor size), a 50-megapixel ultrawide camera (1/2.5-inch sensor size, 120-degree FoV), a 10-megapixel telephoto unit (1/3.52-inch sensor size, 3x optical zoom), and a 50-megapixel periscope telephoto camera (1/2.52-inch sensor size, 5x optical zoom).
In general, the Galaxy S25 Ultra tends to output warmer pictures compared to the OnePlus 15. In terms of which one does a better job, well, it all depends on the scene, really. They trade blows from what we’ve seen. Both main cameras do a good job in all conditions, but neither is the best out there. There are better camera smartphones on the market. Ultrawide cameras are fine, but a few steps behind the main shooters, while we mostly preferred the OnePlus 15’s telephoto results, but the Galaxy S25 Ultra does a good job in that area too. They’re both good in the camera department, but not the best, not even close.
Audio
You’ll find stereo speakers on both of these smartphones. The speakers are good on both phones, actually. They have a similar loudness output, and the sound quality coming from them is on a high level too.
Neither phone has an audio jack, but you can utilize their Type-C ports for hooking up your wired headphones. If you’d like to go wireless, the OnePlus 15 supports Bluetooth 6.0, while the Galaxy S25 Ultra comes with Bluetooth 5.4.
