Qualcomm has announced its broader automotive strategy , focusing on AI-driven and software-defined vehicles, at the latest CES 2026 event. The tech giant also outlined its collaboration with Google and a new wave of customer wins. It further highlighted the growing adoption of its Snapdragon Digital Chassis, cockpit, and several driver assistance platforms.
Qualcomm announces new partnership and automotive innovation at CES 2026
Qualcomm outlined that its Snapdragon Digital Chassis is receiving immense popularity in the industry. The company also threw light on the successful market performance of its driver assistance tools as automakers seek scalable computing, connectivity, and safety technologies for next-generation vehicles across the globe.
The newly announced partnership with Google means that the Snapdragon Digital Chassis solutions will now work together with Android-based automotive software to support AI-powered infotainment, navigation, and in-vehicle services. Qualcomm says the partnership will allow automakers to build more personalized experiences while also maintaining flexible control in terms of software and hardware. This will also reduce development time and improve the long-term upgrade path for connected vehicles.
Qualcomm’s new Snapdragon Cockpit and Ride Elite design wins
Apart from the following announcements, Qualcomm also highlighted the achievement of its automobile components. It secured Snapdragon Cockpit and Ride Elite design wins from Li Auto, Leapmotor, Zeekr, Great Wall Motor, NIO, and Chery. Toyota, one of the most famous automobile manufacturers, also chose the Snapdragon Cockpit Platform for its upcoming RAV4 model.
That’s not all. There is other several innovations like the A10 5G Modem RF, Qualcomm’s first reduced-capability 5G modem designed for automotive use. Nakul Duggal, Executive Vice President and Group General Manager for Automotive at Qualcomm, says that “The company is enabling safer, more intelligent driving through AI and software-defined architectures, as the automotive industry accelerates toward fully connected vehicles.” The firm seems to be doing pretty well in the automobile industry, both in the mainstream and premium vehicle segments.
