As RAM inches closer to and closer to even higher prices , one company is looking to set itself apart with new memory, as Origin Code just announced the Vortex DDR5 RAM kits that come with their own fans. It’s a novel technological idea that hasn’t really been tried by some of the bigger manufacturers, but it is also surely not going to be cheap to produce or to buy as a consumer. Origin Code hasn’t actually announced prices yet. That being said, RAM is already expensive without an extra add-on like this. Especially with players like Micron exiting the consumer market .
It doesn’t seem likely that throwing a triple cooling fan system in the mix is going to bring the prices down. Of course, you could always build your PC in such a way that allows you to point some 120mm or higher fans right at the RAM if you want more cooling. But Origin Code claims you’ll get better cooling performance with its new upcoming system.
Origin Code will show off its Vortex RAM with triple fans at CES 2026
While Origin Code hasn’t officially announced pricing of these new RAM sticks, it is planning to bring the RAM to CES 2026 to show it off in person. It’s possible that it plans to reveal official pricing at the same time. According to Video Cardz, the Vortex DDR5 RAM is capable of producing 39.8% better cooling than passive cooling.
Using the triple fan module, a consumer could attach the fans to the top of the RAM kit. The triple fan module appears to attach with magnets, but it isn’t clear exactly how the module actually stays attached.
The Vortex DDR5 RAM will come in a few different configurations. This includes a kit with 4x 48GB sticks for a total of 192GB of RAM if you want lots of memory. Be prepared to spend a lot for that, though. If you want something a little more economical, there will also be a 32GB kit, a 48GB kit, and a 96GB kit. You could even push past what most people would ever need with a 256GB kit that consists of 4x 64GB sticks.
