Realme is all set to launch its next flagship smartphone, the Realme GT 8 Pro. But before its official debut, the company has revealed the modular camera design of the device. It has released a video showcasing the Realme GT 8 Pro’s detachable camera module, color options, and interchangeable accessories.
Realme GT 8 Pro to feature the industry’s first detachable camera module
The Realme GT 8 Pro introduces an industry-first modular camera mechanism with detachable modules. The design lets the camera deco be swapped out with different shapes and finishes. Users can choose from round, square, and “robot” modules to match their individual preferences.
As shown in the video, swapping the camera module is fairly easy. All you have to do is unscrew the pre-fitted module, align the module of your choice, and then screw it back again. Interestingly, Realme is expected to sell these interchangeable modules separately. However, the accessories needed to replace the module will likely be included with the retail box itself.
Realme opts for a premium design and AG matte glass
Regarding aesthetics, the Realme GT 8 Pro features an AG matte glass back and a matte metal frame. This combination is said to offer a premium in-hand feel and minimal smudging. Moreover, the device will be available in three different color variants: crisp White, serene Blue, and fresh Green. Correspondingly, the interchangeable camera modules will be available in matching colors.
Xu Qi, Realme’s Vice President and President of Global Marketing, described the new design language as a “fusion of mechanical precision and elegance,” marking a new design milestone for the brand.
As for the specifications, it’s getting the top-notch Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset paired with a 2K resolution, 144Hz refresh rate supported panel. Lastly, on the camera front, the device will boast a 200MP telephoto lens, a 50MP primary shooter, and a 50MP ultrawide lens, with the camera system fine-tuned in partnership with Ricoh GR for professional-grade imaging.
