Xiaomi’s sub-brand Redmi is reportedly working on a premium mid-ranger, the Redmi Turbo 5 Pro. This will succeed the Redmi Turbo 4 Pro from last year and bring some notable upgrades to the table. The phone is rumored to house a MediaTek chip and a whopping 9,000mAh battery, putting it right up there with the current trend. While we wait for the debut, the alleged Redmi Turbo 5 Pro has appeared on Geekbench , cluing us in on some hardware specs.
Redmi Turbo 5 Pro stops by at Geekbench
The alleged Redmi Turbo 5 Pro stretches its wings on Geekbench with the model number 2602BRT18C. This is the same model number that previously appeared on China’s 3C platform. The phone scores 2,658 in the single-core round and 8,456 in the multi-core segment. These benchmark scores are quite competitive, but not in the ultra-flagship-level, though.
The listing confirms the Redmi Turbo 5 Pro will boot Android 16 OS, which could be based on HyperOS 3. The phone will pack 16GB RAM (14.91GB to be precise), but there could be other RAM options at launch.
New MediaTek Dimensity 9500e chip at the helm
The Redmi handset will reportedly feature the MediaTek Dimensity 9500e. On Geekbench, the motherboard is listed as “dash.” It (the CPU) has eight cores, with a single core clocking at 3.73GHz, 3 cores at 3.30GHz, and 4 cores at 2.40GHz. The Geekbench source code section reveals Immortalis-G925 MC12 GPU. Interestingly, the CPU clock speeds and GPU match the Dimensity 9400+. This makes sense, considering the Dimensity 9400e was a rebadged Dimensity 9300+, so the Dimensity 9500e should be based on the 9400+.
The Redmi Turbo 5 Pro could arrive with 100W fast charging support and a 1.5K LTPS OLED display. It may feature an ultrasonic fingerprint sensor and stereo speakers. The phone will also be quite durable, thanks to a metal frame. The phone may debut globally as POCO F8 and join the other POCO F8 series models, the F8 Pro and F8 Ultra.
