We get that most people love the idea of having a living room with a massive TV as the centerpiece. Having friends and family over watching shows and movies in the comfort of your own home? Being able to avoid crowds and sticky floors at cinemas? We’re calling that an easy win. However, the reality is that not everyone has the space or budget for massive TVs. This is where projectors come in, and ahead of CES 2026 , Samsung has taken the wraps off its latest Freestyle+ portable projector .
Samsung unveils new Freestyle+ portable projector
One of the benefits of projectors over TVs is that most of them are adaptable to the space you have. This means that if you need something small, you can. But if you need to project something bigger? No problem. With the new Samsung Freestyle+ personal projector, that’s kind of the goal .
The Freestyle+ features 3D Auto Keystone which automatically corrects image distortion. This is important, especially if the surface you’re projecting on is uneven or non-flat, like curtains, angled walls, and so on. It also boasts features like Real-time Focus, which continuously adjusts the focus during movement to maintain clarity. It can even automatically resize the image to match the projection area, useful if you have a compatible projector screen accessory.
Then, there’s Wall Calibration. This feature allows the projector to analyze the color or pattern of the projection surface. This can help reduce any visual distractions while viewing.
Other features include 430 ISO lumens of brightness, a 180-degree rotating design, and access to Samsung TV Plus. There’s also a built-in 360-degree speaker with support for Q-Symphony.
But that’s not all, there’s AI too
Seeing as this is 2026 and AI is still very much the buzzword of the season, it doesn’t come as a surprise that Samsung is marketing the Freestyle+ as having AI features. This includes features like AI OptiScreen. This feature leverages AI to optimize the picture based on your environment. This does away with the need for manual calibration.
Then, there’s also the Vision AI Companion. This is a personalized AI platform that generates an enhanced version of Bixby, Samsung’s virtual assistant, complete with support for various AI services from different partners. This allows users to interact more conversationally with the assistant and on-screen content.
Samsung did not mention how much its Freestyle+ projector costs. However, the company is planning to roll it out in the first half of the year, so we should have more details soon enough.
