Nearing the end of 2025, Samsung is launching a couple of affordable devices in the U.S. market: the Galaxy A17 5G phone and the Galaxy Tab A11+ tablet . These products aim to offer decent everyday performance and updated designs at more affordable price points.
Samsung Galaxy A17 5G: Specs and price
There are several improvements to the Galaxy A17 5G’s software and durability. The build quality is one of the most important changes. The front of the phone is made of Gorilla Glass Victus, and the back is made of glass fiber reinforced polymer. This combination makes it much less likely to get damaged by drops and scratches than earlier entry-level models. It also has an IP54 rating, which means it is safe from dust and water splashes.

The phone has a bright 6.7-inch FHD+ Super AMOLED display with a 90Hz refresh rate on the front. It has an Exynos 1330 processor and 4GB of RAM inside. The hardware isn’t that great, but Samsung has added modern AI tools like “Circle to Search” and Google’s Gemini . These tools let people find information or manage tasks by talking to each other.
Photography is handled by a 50MP main camera that now includes optical image stabilization (OIS) for sharper photos and videos. Samsung is also promising a flagship-level lifecycle for this device. We’re talking about up to six years of security updates and six generations of Android OS upgrades. The Galaxy A17 5G arrives in stores on January 7, starting at $199.99 for the 128GB model.
Samsung Galaxy Tab A11+: Specs and price
Launching just a day later on January 8, the Galaxy Tab A11+ is designed as a multi-purpose device for families or students. It features an 11-inch TFT LCD screen with a 90Hz refresh rate and a peak brightness of 480 nits. The tablet is housed in a sleek metal unibody and includes a four-speaker system with Dolby Atmos for a more immersive audio experience when watching movies or gaming.

Performance-wise, the Tab A11+ uses a MediaTek MT8775 processor. It will be available in configurations with either 6GB or 8GB of RAM. It also supports “DeX Standalone Edition,” which allows the tablet to mimic a desktop interface for better productivity. Like the A17 phone, the tablet gains AI features such as Circle to Search, marking the first time this tool has appeared on the Galaxy Tab A series.
The tablet includes a 7,040 mAh battery that supports 25W fast charging. For those who prefer wired accessories, it retains a 3.5mm earphone jack—a feature becoming increasingly rare in modern mobile tech. The Galaxy Tab A11+ starts at $249.99 and will be available in Gray and Silver.
