Samsung is likely going to announce the Galaxy S26 series next month at Unpacked, ahead of MWC Barcelona. This is where Samsung used to announce the Galaxy S, except for the past couple of years. And now we’re starting to see some prices leak from some countries that will have the new Galaxy S26 devices.
This time around, the prices are coming out of Sweden, thanks to Roland Quandt , who has been very accurate with his leaks over the years.
As you likely know already, Samsung is ditching the 128GB storage model from the base model Galaxy S26 this year, which means that the Galaxy S26 will start at 11,990SEK in Sweden or Swedish Kronor. The 512GB model is going for 13,990SEK. That’s 1,000SEK more than the Galaxy S25 at 256GB, and there was no 512GB in Sweden last year. That’s about $113 USD more expensive. With a starting price of $1,355 USD, which would be absurd to see that kind of pricing in the US, considering the Galaxy S25 was $799 for 128GB. Though I would expect to see the starting price go up, thanks to the 128GB model going away and the rising costs of RAM and storage.
On the Plus model, it’ll start at 14,490SEK, that’s about $1,638 USD. And the Ultra will start at 16,990SEK which is around $1,921 USD. Surprisingly, the Galaxy S26 Ultra is 1,000SEK cheaper than the Galaxy S25 Ultra, with the 512GB being 500SEK cheaper and the 1TB staying the same.
This is why we say it is important to take these prices with a grain of salt when it comes to converting to other currencies. These are insane prices for the US, and very unlikely.
How does US pricing for Galaxy S26 look?
We likely won’t know the pricing for the US for quite some time, but companies like Samsung and Apple do typically like to keep prices the same in the US due to the carrier model. Raising prices means that people are less likely to upgrade, and thus they will sell fewer phones.
But keep in mind that the base and plus models have not seen a price increase in the US since 2021, when the Galaxy S21 launched. The Ultra has seen a few price increases, including just last year, going up by $100 to $1,299.
With all of the increases in RAM and storage, as well as other components, I would not be surprised to see the whole lineup increase by $100 each. The Galaxy S26 is definitely going up by $100 since Samsung is ditching the 128GB model and starting at 256GB, which was $859 for the Galaxy S25.
Either way, we’ve got about a month to figure this stuff out. As MWC starts on March 2, Unpacked will undoubtedly be before that.
