The Samsung Galaxy S26+ aka Galaxy S26 Plus is one of three Galaxy S26 series smartphones that are coming. This handset is coming as a direct successor to the Galaxy S25+, even though the Galaxy S26 Edge was long rumored to launch instead of it.

In any case, the Galaxy S26+ will not be the company’s new ultra-thin smartphone. This phone is not the Galaxy S26 Edge with a different name, Samsung also changed its design. We’ve exclusively revealed the design of that phone , while various other rumors and leaks appeared as well. In this article, we’ll show you what you can expect out of that phone. We’ll talk about its design, specs, cost, and more. Let’s get to it, shall we?

When will the Samsung Galaxy S26+ be released?

The Galaxy S26+ is expected to arrive in January next year. One rumor said that the launch event was pushed to March 2026 , and then a rumor mentioning February 25 launch date has emerged. There was also a rumored that mentioned that the phone will still launch in January, alongside its siblings. February 25 seems like the most probable outcome , however, as March 11 is mentioned as the release date . The Galaxy S26 Pro and Galaxy S26 Ultra were expected, but the Galaxy S26 Pro will be replaced by the Galaxy S26 .

What models are coming?

The Samsung Galaxy S26+ is coming alongside the Galaxy S26 and Galaxy S26 Ultra, based on rumors. It will be the middle-of-the-road model in terms of price. What about the models of the Galaxy S26+ itself? Well, one rumor said that it will include 16GB of RAM this time around, not 12GB of RAM . We’ll see if that will happen, but you can expect LPDDR5X RAM either way. If we had to guess, we’d say that 256GB and 512GB storage models will be on offer, the same as last year. Not a single rumor mentioned that, however. Don’t expect the phone to offer a microSD card expansion.

How much will the Samsung Galaxy S26+ cost?

Initial rumors suggested that Samsung will retain the same price as last year , and that’s probably what will happen despite a lot of noise pointing in other directions . Why? Well, Samsung wants to keep the pricing of its Galaxy S26 series in line with the iPhone 17 series to the best of its ability. The Galaxy S26 will likely keep its price tag from the previous year, and the same is expected to happen with the Galaxy S26+. So, the phone is tipped to cost $999. It’s not exactly bringing a ton of improvements, so that’s understandable.

What will the Samsung Galaxy S26+ look like?

We know what the phone will look like, as we’ve exclusively shared its CAD-based renders , as we did with the Galaxy S26 Ultra . We also shared official renders of both the Galaxy S26 and Galaxy S26+, which will look the same. If you check out the galleries below this paragraph, you’ll see images of the phone. The accompanying videos are also included below. Generally speaking, it will be similar to this year’s model, but with a slightly different-looking camera setup on the back. Instead of each of the cameras protruding separately, they’ll all be placed on one camera island and vertically aligned.

The three cameras will still sit in the top-left corner, as they did on the Galaxy S25+. That entire camera island on the back will protrude, though, quite a bit. The phone itself will measure 158.4 x 75.8 x 7.3mm, while it will weigh 190 grams.

It will feature a flat display and a flat frame

The display will be flat, as it is now, and the camera island will be centered up top. The bezels around the display will be thin and uniform. The corners will still be rounded, but only slightly. All the physical buttons will sit on the right-hand side of the device. The power/lock button will be placed below the volume up and down keys. The frame of the device will be flat all around, while it will curve slightly towards the edges.

You can expect the Galaxy S26+ to be IP68 certified for water and dust resistance. The phone will once again be quite light. This model is expected to offer a similar weight, too. It will be made out of metal and glass. Samsung will almost certainly use aluminum for the frame once again.

What specs will the Samsung Galaxy S26+ have?

What about the phone’s specifications? Well, some information did surface. Let’s kick things off by talking about its processor, or should we say processors. Samsung is tipped to go back to a dual-chip strategy, as the phone is expected to arrive in both Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 and Exynos 2600 versions. The thing is, the Exynos 2600 model could be exclusive to South Korea .

Samsung is going back to a dual-chip strategy

The Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 has been announced already, and the version for Samsung’s phones could be the ‘for Galaxy’, which means they’ll be slightly overclocked. The Exynos 2600 has been pushed to mass production , but it wasn’t officially announced yet. The Exynos versions of Samsung’s flagships were most prominent in Europe in the past, while the US and China usually rocked the Snapdragon versions. It remains to be seen if that will be the case this time around, but rumors are claiming that nearly half of all Galaxy S26 series units will use that chip . Samsung will likely combine that with 12GB or 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 256GB/512GB of UFS 4.0 flash storage.

The phone will likely include a 6.66-inch display

The Samsung Galaxy S26+ is rumored to include a 6.7-inch panel. So you’ll get a similar setup as in the Galaxy S25+. There’s a good chance Samsung will stick with a 3120 x 1440 resolution for this panel. It will be an LTPO AMOLED display with an adaptive refresh rate (1-120Hz). The panel will be flat. A 4,900mAh battery is expected to be included, so the same battery capacity as the Galaxy S25+ offered.

Both wired and wireless charging will be supported

The charging will be improved in a way, as this phone will ship with magnets for Qi2 charging. 45W wired charging is rumored, along with Qi2 wireless charging. So either 15W or 25W wireless charging will be on offer, depending on whether Samsung goes for Qi2 or Qi2.2 standard. We’ll have to wait and see. Android 16 will come pre-installed with One UI 8.5.

Minimal camera upgrades rumored

What about its cameras? Well, this phone is tipped to retain the same cameras as its predecessor, with a chance of its telephoto shooter being even worse this time around. A tipster believes that Samsung will use an even smaller sensor on the telephoto camera. The main 50-megapixel one and 12-megapixel ultrawide cameras will remain the same as in the Galaxy S25+. Completely identical hardware is expected.

A well-known tipster has shared a spec comparison between the Galaxy S26+ and its predecessor, in a table form. You can check that out below.

Should you wait to buy the Samsung Galaxy S26+ ?

The Samsung Galaxy S26+ won’t be a huge improvement, that much is certain. Samsung will make minor changes based on what we’ve seen thus far, partially because the company wants to retain the same price tag. You will get magnets for charging here, though, as well as a more powerful processor, amongst some other changes. Don’t expect any ground-breaking changes, though, we’ll have to wait for at least 2027 in order to see that. It’s too early to tell whether the phone is worth getting.
