The Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra should be able to offer better camera performance in low light . Ice Universe, a well-known tipster, has just reconfirmed something he mentioned a while back.
The Galaxy S26 Ultra will use the same main camera, but with a wider aperture
He went to X to show us that the Galaxy S26 Ultra will include the same ISOCELL HP2 main camera sensor as its predecessor. The thing is, its lens aperture will be wider than it was on the Galaxy S25 Ultra.
We’re looking at an f/1.4 aperture here, compared to an f/1.7 aperture that the Galaxy S25 Ultra offered. That should make it possible for the phone to offer improved image quality in low light, with lower noise. Well, presuming that Samsung does a good job with camera software.
The ISOCELL HP2, in case you’re wondering, is a 1/1.3-inch camera sensor with 0.6um pixel size, It can capture 10-bit and 12-bit RAW images. The sensor utilizes pixel binning to capture 12.5MP, 50MP, and 200MP resolution pictures.
What about other cameras on the back of the device?
What about the other three cameras on the back of the phone? Well, based on some previously shared information, we’re looking at a 50-megapixel ultrawide camera with an f/1.9 aperture.
A 10-megapixel or 12-megapixel telephoto camera will be included, with 3x optical zoom. Ice Unjiverse does claim that the telephoto camera sensor will be even smaller than on the Galaxy S25 Ultra, unfortunately.
The last camera on the back will be a periscope telephoto one, and it will be a 50-megapixel unit with an f/2.9 aperture, allegedly. So that camera may get a wider aperture, too, though only if some sources are to be believed. Others are saying that it will stay at an f/3.4.
The Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 will fuel the phone on a global scale
The phone will also incorporate the same 12-megapixel selfie camera as its predecessor. The Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 will seemingly fuel the phone on a global scale. Its siblings, the Galaxy S26 and Galaxy S26+ , will utilize both that chip and the Exynos 2600, depending on the market.
All three phones are expected to arrive in January, at least based on the latest information. We’re still waiting for Samsung’s confirmation of the event.
