The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 7 was announced by the company on July 9. The event took place in New York, but this phone did not arrive on its own, not at all. Samsung announced a handful of other products. The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 was also announced, along with the Samsung Galaxy Watch 8 series. A budget flip foldable, the Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE, was also presented by Samsung during the event.
With that being said, the Galaxy Z Flip 7 is not a huge departure from the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 6 design-wise. It does have a larger cover display, as Samsung ditched the folder-type design here. We’ll talk more about that later on, though. The Galaxy Z Flip 7 is now the most powerful flip-style foldable the company has to offer. We’ll talk about many of its aspects in this article, so let’s get going.

How much does the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 7 cost?
The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 7 starts at $1,099.99 in the US. That is its price for the 256GB storage variant. The 512GB storage model will cost you $1,199.99. So, unlike the Galaxy Z Fold 7, which did get a price bump, the same cannot be said for the Flip 7. This is the same starting price as last year, for the Galaxy Z Flip 6. Samsung did bump up the price from the Flip 5 to the Flip 6, but not this year, which is nice to see. Granted, the Galaxy Z Flip 7 does not exactly represent a huge leap forward, so… it makes sense.
Where can I buy the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 7?

Samsung

AT&T

T-Mobile

Verizon

What carriers does it work on?
The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 7 will be compatible with pretty much every carrier you can think of in the US. AT&T, T-Mobile and Verizon are included, the big three. All three of them will also sell the phone, as mentioned earlier. The Flip 7 will also work on various MVNOs, including Visible, US Mobile, Metro by T-Mobile, Cricket, and more. You don’t have to worry about the Flip 7’s carrier compatibility in the US.
What colors does the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 7 come in?
Much like its Fold sibling, the Galaxy Z Flip 7 comes in three colors. Two out of three colors are identical to what the Galaxy Z Fold 7 offers, while the last one is different. The Flip 7 is on offer in Blue Shadow, Jetblack, and Coralred colors. In other words, you get to choose between blue, black, and red-ish colors. This phone is not available in Silver Shadow color, the Fold 7 comes in, while the Fold 7 doesn’t offer the Coralred model. That is definitely the most attention-grabbing color of the Flip 7. Not everyone will like it, though, of course.

What new upgrades does the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 7 have over the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 6, and what noteworthy features in general?
The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 7 has one major change design-wise, compared to the Galaxy Z Flip 6. That’s the one we’ll talk about first, while we’ll talk about some other noteworthy features after that. Let’s get to it.
Bigger & better cover panel
The Flip 7 ditches the folder-type display of the Flip 6, as it adopts a larger panel. Its cover display now goes around the two cameras on the back. It measures 4.1 inches, compared to a 3.4-inch panel on the Flip 6. That display also has a high refresh rate (120Hz), compared to 60Hz of its predecessor. It’s brighter too.
Bye-bye bezels
That cover display also comes with thinner bezels this time around. The bezels around it are only 1.25mm thick, which makes them the thinnest bezels up to now. It really does look really nice in person.
Battery boost
The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 7 comes with a 4,300mAh battery. That means it offers 300mAh more capacity than its predecessor the Galaxy Z Flip 6. Granted, it does have a larger cover display, but still.
Samsung DeX
Samsung DeX is available on a Galaxy Z Flip device for the very first time. Thanks to this addition, you can connect your phone to a monitor/TV in order to get a desktop-like experience. It was about time Samsung does this for its Flip phones.
Hinge improvements
Samsung improved the hinge in the Flip 7. The Flexhinge is now 30% smaller, and it should be better despite that. Samsung actually claims that this is the most durable Galaxy Z Flip device yet. It includes titanium as a build materials, and it’s finally a waterdrop hinge.
What cases are available for the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 7?
Samsung has listed a bunch of cases for the Flip 7 on its official website. Do note that the information has been grabbed from Samsung’s US website, so the information applies to that specific market. Many other markets should have similar offers, though. In any case, you’ll find 8 cases there, along with a screen protector. So 9 accessories in total are listed. You can access all those cases via the links below, where you’ll also see their price tags, and see what the cases look like. Do note that not all of them are available to purchase as of yet.
Here are the options:
- Ring Case ($41.99)
- Ring Case ($38.49)
- Kindsuit Case ($69.99)
- Flipsuit Case ($41.99)

Should I buy the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 7?
The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 7 is arguably less of an improvement over its predecessor than the Galaxy Z Fold 7 is over the Fold 6. That’s one of the reasons why its price tag remains unchanged. That larger cover display could appeal to some people and make them upgrade. Samsung DeX could be another main reason why some of you may opt for the Flip 7. The phone certainly has its advantages, but it’s up to you to decide whether they’re worth it for you.
