Samsung’s heavily rumored trifold is set to launch very soon, or at least be previewed as soon as this month. According to Korean media , Samsung will be showing it off as part of the company’s exhibition at the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) event. But it’s unlikely that this would be a full unveiling of this new form factor. It will likely be a tease or possibly a preview of what’s to come.

This is a pretty unexpected location for Samsung to introduce its own trifold smartphone, which would be the second one made in the world behind Huawei’s Mate XT. While others, like T ecno have shown off trifold devices , those aren’t actually available to buy yet.

Reports have indicated that Samsung would call this either the Galaxy Trifold or the G Flex, and have a full public unveiling “as early as November”. Even though previous rumors had indicated an October launch date, it was exclusive to Korea and possibly China at first. Similar to the Galaxy Z Fold 6 SE from last year.

APEC 2025 runs from October 31 to November 1 in South Korea this year. So we still have a few weeks for this to actually make an appearance at the show. It’ll most likely be a “see what we can do” type of showing, versus a full unveiling.

Samsung’s Trifold is set to have a limited initial production run

According to sources in Korea, the initial production run for the trifold is set to be very limited. We’re looking at around 50,000 models being manufactured. Which means that a lot of the media won’t be getting their hands on it either.

By comparison, the original Galaxy Fold had an initial production run of around 30,000 to 100,000 units. So this is right in line with that. However, the Galaxy Z Fold 7 is currently producing about 260,000 units per month. So it has grown quite significantly since the Galaxy Fold debuted in 2019.

As far as pricing goes, we are expecting this to cost around $3,000 or more. Remember, there’s a lot of R&D that goes into a new product like this, and the Galaxy Z Fold 7 is already $1,999. So it definitely won’t be under $2K.
