Samsung is expanding its audio product line with the introduction of the new Sound Tower series. This is a portable “partying” audio solution designed for both indoor and outdoor use. Unveiled just before IFA 2025, Samsung’s new ST50F and ST40F Sound Towers offer a combination of acoustic performance, dynamic lighting, and extended playtime.

Samsung’s new ST50F and ST40F Sound Tower Series

The new lineup is equipped with a redesigned acoustic structure compared to its predecessors. The larger ST50F model features 6.5-inch dual woofers and 1-inch dual dome tweeters. Meanwhile, the ST40F uses 5.25-inch dual woofers and 0.75-inch dual dome tweeters. Both models apply Samsung’s Waveguide technology to ensure a wider and more consistent sound stage.

Users can tailor the audio to their preferences with customizable bass. They can choose between Deep, Punchy, and Gentle modes. Additionally, four specific sound modes—Standard, Wide, Stadium, and Outdoor—allow for further fine-tuning, optimizing the sound profile for different environments, from an enclosed room to an open field. For an expanded soundscape, you can connect multiple units through Auracast™ Group Play. You can also pair two Sound Towers via Stereo Play with True Wireless Stereo (TWS). These combined setups will give you a more immersive left-right channel audio experience.

Beyond their acoustic capabilities, Samsung’s new Sound Towers for 2025 feature a Party Lights+ system. This lighting system reacts to music in real-time by analyzing beats and frequencies to drive dozens of LEDs across five key areas of the speaker. There are five mood presets and six dynamic lighting patterns. Additionally, users can tailor the visual atmosphere to a specific setting. The five distinct lighting zones include a Track light, Ring lights, Line lights, and Crystal lights at the base, along with a functional Handle light that illuminates the control panel. Users have detailed control over these effects through the revamped Sound Tower app. You’ll find customizable effects such as Wave, Trail, and Flare, as well as the ability to set a silent night mode.

Portability and long battery life

Portability and durability are also key components of the new design. The larger ST50F model provides up to 18 hours of playtime on a single charge. Meanwhile, the ST40F offers up to 12 hours. Both units feature an IPX4 water resistance rating, providing a degree of protection against splashes. The new Grip & Roll design, a key feature for mobility, varies by model. The ST40F includes an integrated handle for transport, while the larger ST50F is equipped with both a telescopic handle and wheels for effortless transport, reflecting its larger size and weight.

Other notable features include built-in DJ Booth and Karaoke modes, a guitar input for live performance applications, and the ability to connect multiple units. The revamped Sound Tower app allows for seamless control over both lighting effects and acoustic preferences. It also allows device diagnostics and firmware updates.

The new Samsung Sound Tower models for 2025 are now available for purchase. The ST50F has a retail price of $699.99 and the ST40F is priced at $499.99.
