After much anticipation, Samsung has finally announced the Galaxy Z TriFold today in Korea. Samsung says that the Galaxy Z TriFold “showcases engineering mastery with its most advanced foldable technologies optimized for the unique demands of a multi-folding design.”
If you thought the Galaxy Z Fold 7 was thin, the Galaxy Z TriFold gets even thinner at just 3.9mm at its thinnest point. It also still uses the Snapdragon 8 Elite , and not the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 .
Samsung did bring over the 200MP camera from the Galaxy Z Fold 7 for the TriFold while also putting the largest battery they’ve ever used in a foldable at 5,600mAh. That’s also one of the largest in a Samsung phone, period. And with 45W charging, it should recharge fairly quickly.

Samsung re-optimized the core foldable technology for Galaxy Z TriFold
For the Galaxy Z TriFold, Samsung took the foldable technology that it has perfected over the past 8 years and made it even better. Starting with the hinges (that’s right, hinges plural), which Samsung says is its most durable hinges yet. Samsung “refined the Armor FlexHinge to meet the unique demands of Galaxy Z TriFold.” That’s because each hinge is a different size and uses a dual-rail structure to work in harmony, creating a smoother, more stable fold despite varying weight and components.
Samsung also had to restructure the foldable display because the TriFold introduces a new 10-inch screen that folds twice. It also has a reinforced overcoat that has been added to a shock-absorbing layer for better resistance across the dual-folding device.
The company is also using advanced materials on the outside of Galaxy Z TriFold with the titanium hinge housing a thin piece ov metal that protects the folding mechanism and resists wear over time. The frame is supported by Advanced Armor Aluminum which adds rigidity without increasing the bulkiness of the device.
Finally, Samsung says that “every unit goes through a series of strict quality checks to achieve every small requirement. For instance, CT Scanning of the flexible printed circuit board verifies that it has been correctly manufactured according to the design, ensuring accuracy and reliability before bonding it together with the other internal display components.”
