Samsung's November Patch Reaches Galaxy Z Fold 7, Z Flip 7, & Older Foldables

One of the advantages of Samsung ‘s flagship phones is their prioritized updates. These devices are usually among the first to receive everything, from major OS updates to the smallest—but most important—security patches. Currently, the company is rolling out this month’s security update to its eligible devices. Now it’s the turn of the Galaxy Z Fold 7 , Galaxy Z Flip 7 , Galaxy Z Fold 6 , and Galaxy Z Flip 6 to receive the November 2025 security update.

As usual, Samsung is starting the rollout process in South Korea, its home country. However, the firmware’s availability should begin expanding rapidly to global markets in the coming days.

The new software patch focuses purely on security, containing no new features or functional enhancements. It addresses several vulnerabilities—up to 45 fixes—including several high-severity issues that needed urgent attention. The OTA is labeled with build numbers F966NKSS6AYK9 (Galaxy Z Fold 7), F766NKSS6AYK9 (Galaxy Z Flip 7), F956NKSS2CYK3 (Galaxy Z Fold 6), and F741NKSS2CYK3 (Galaxy Z Flip 6).

Once the update is available in your region, you should receive a notification to download it. However, you can always check your phone’s settings manually. You’ll find the option under Settings > Software update > Download and install.

What comes next for One UI

While this update is routine, it provides a timely reminder of the upcoming schedule for major feature changes. Users of these foldables currently running on One UI 8 (based on Android 16) will have to wait a bit longer for the next major software jump.

Samsung is currently developing One UI 8.5. This highly anticipated feature update is expected to debut globally with the Galaxy S26 series, which is rumored to launch in February 2026. Following the S26 debut, Samsung will begin rolling out One UI 8.5 to eligible older models. Of course, the list includes the Galaxy Z Fold 7, Flip 7, Fold 6, and Flip 6. Based on past timelines, owners of these foldables should expect to receive the One UI 8.5 update around March or April of next year—or perhaps a little later.

For now, foldable phone owners should watch for update notifications. These small patches are the least interesting to the general public due to their lack of features. However, they are crucial for keeping your phone safe from the latest security threats.
