The Samsung Galaxy Z TriFold may not be as expensive as the rumors suggested. With that in mind, it’ll still be very pricey , so don’t get all excited ahead of time. Let’s see what the latest rumor has to say.
The Samsung Galaxy Z TriFold could cost less than expected
A Korean tipster, yeux1122, reported via Naver that the phone will end up costing 3.6 million won ($2,446) in Korea. The price that leaked before this one was 4 million won ($2,718). So that’s like a $250 difference right there.
If this phone ends up launching in the US and or Europe, as some reports suggested, the price could be higher than the one reported here, of course. So, don’t get your hopes up just yet, we still don’t know anything for sure.
The tipster said that the information comes from an “internal sales channel announcement”, but he didn’t share his source, of course. Do take the information with a grain of salt.
It’s expected to be a lot more expensive than the Galaxy Z Fold 7, though
As a reminder, the Galaxy Z Fold 7 costs the equivalent of $1,616 in Korea, approximately. If this information is accurate, its tri-fold sibling will end up costing around $800 more. That’s definitely a more bearable difference than a $1,000+ one.
The name of this smartphone was (kind of) confirmed recently , by a well-known tipster. The phone is expected to have two displays, actually, a foldable on the front, and a cover display on the back.
A 10-inch main panel is expected, and a 6.5-inch cover display. When fully folded, the cover display will be used, while the main display will be in action otherwise. A 5,600mAh battery was also mentioned, as was the Snapdragon 8 Elite processor.
The Galaxy Z TriFold could end up offering the same camera setup as the Galaxy Z Fold 7, or at least a similar camera setup. A 200-megapixel main camera is rumored, along with a 12-megapixel ultrawide camera, and a 10-megapixel telephoto camera (3x optical zoom).
The device is rumored to launch on December 5 . That is not official just yet, though.
