Samsung’s upcoming TriFold device has been making the rounds with regulators and even in some Samsung apps. Now, it has made its way over to KIPRIS, which is a Korean regulator that published a patent application in regards to the upcoming TriFold .

As expected, it does look very similar to the Galaxy Z Fold 7, but with a very different internal structure. Detailed sketches show that the TriFold is going to be powered by three batteries. With one in each panel of the phone, connected with ribbon cables of course. And each battery is larger than the next. So this could result in a fairly large battery.

Obviously, the segment containing the cameras has the smallest battery, as the cameras take up a big chunk of it. With the third segment housing the largest battery.

These details do not involve the size of the batteries in this new device however. So we’re not sure how large the battery is going to be. But hopefully it is larger than the 4,400mAh capacity battery in the Galaxy Z Fold 7. With a much larger display, you’re definitely going to need it.

Samsung might unveil this new product in October

There are some rumors that Samsung could unveil the TriFold at a business show in Korea at the end of October. Though, that has not yet been confirmed. If that does happen, it’ll likely be a tease, with a more formal event afterwards.

Other rumors have pointed towards the TriFold only being available in Korea and China, at least for the first-generation. Which would not be surprising, given how expensive it’ll be and how scarce units will be as well.
