OnePlus has started rolling out its December 2025 Android update to five of its phones, the OnePlus 13 , OnePlus 13R, OnePlus 12 , OnePlus 12R , OnePlus 11 , and OnePlus Open . This update does bring a security boost, but that’s not all, not even close.
It is worth noting that the rollout has started in India, which goes for all five smartphones. However, OnePlus will quickly push those same updates to other markets, if it hasn’t already.
Six OnePlus phones are now getting the December 2025 update with new features
This update delivers over 50 security patches from Google for Android, but OnePlus also added quite a few of its own changes. The company did publish a changelog for each of these phones.
The updates are not entirely identical, but some entries are exactly the same. It all depends on what phone you’re interested in. All 5 changelogs will be listed below the article, in case you’re interested in all the details.
Let’s talk about some of the changes (they could differ from one phone to the next). You can now launch storage cleanup tools from Smart Sidebar. After resizing an app icon and adding commonly used shortcut icons, you can now drag-and-drop these shortcut icons to rearrange them.
OnePlus has improved filtering in the default gallery app
The filter in the Photos app now supports ‘Motion Photo’, ‘Screenshots & screen recording’, and ‘Edited’ options. In other words, it will be easier for you to filter images and videos through the default gallery app.
The Camera app now supports XPAN watermarks, while OnePlus also added a ‘Neon’ filter for the Camera app that recreates the CineStill 800T film effect. That can boost your night portrait shots, that’s for sure.
The thumbnail parsing method in the Photos app has been improved to speed up the display of thumbnails. You can now also edit images and videos directly in Private Safe; you don’t need to unlock them first.
There are a lot more changes included in each of the changelogs. Follow the links provided below for more information.
