EVs are available from just about every single car brand these days, and they all offer a lot of the same (or similar) advanced features, but what none of them offer yet is native support for PlayStation Remote Play so that you can stream your PS5 games . The Afeela, an EV announced by Sony Honda Mobility a few years ago, will be the first EV to offer such a feature.

SHM is a joint venture mobility company created by Sony and Honda, and the Afeela is its first EV. Being that Sony is involved in this venture, it shouldn’t be surprising that the Afeela will soon allow passengers to access the Remote Play feature. SHM announced the upcoming addition of Remote Play on December 18. Remote Play from your car isn’t the first advent of games coming to in-vehicle infotainment displays. Tesla famously added the ability to play games from its massive display a couple of years ago. That being said, SHM’s approach is quite different. Allowing you to access your full PS5 library.

PS5 Remote Play will be available directly from the in-car displays

As noted, Remote Play will be integrated with the in-car displays. There’s a screen available on the back of each front seat, and Sony mentions that passengers will be able to stream games from these displays while also using the integrated audio.

You’ll also be able to access the feature from the display upfront if the car is parked, which could make waiting in your car a lot more enjoyable. For example, when your car is parked and recharging. For this feature to work, users will also need a PS5 that’s powered on, as that’s how Remote Play works. So Afeela owners shouldn’t forget to leave their console on before they leave the house if they anticipate wanting to use the feature. SHM doesn’t mention when the feature will be available for Afeela owners, but presumably, it’ll be sometime in 2026. It’s not quite as nice as streaming your PS5 games in the cloud, like you can do on the Portal , but it’s neat nonetheless.
