Google is pushing out yet another December 2025 update to Pixel phones. It seems like it’s not coming to all Pixel devices, though. As a reminder, the first, and main December 2025 update arrived as part of the Android 16 QPR2 update earlier this month.
The second December 2025 update is coming to the Pixel 8, 9, and 10 series
This new update weighs around 25MB , and Pixel 8, 9, and 10 series users are reporting that they’ve received it. Verizon users are reporting the update thus far, though some users in the UK also received it.
It doesn’t seem to be widely available as of now, though. Well, at least it wasn’t at the time of writing this article. It could spread to more phones moving forward, it remains to be seen.
Verizon has also published release notes for the update. It’s marked as BP4A.251205.006.E1, and Verizon confirmed that it’s aimed at the Pixel 8, Pixel 9, and Pixel 10 series smartphones.
It fixes battery drain, touch unresponsiveness, and cached content access
What’s included? Well, only three entries are in the changelog that Verizon shared . The first one has to do with battery drain. A fix for “faster than normal battery depletion” is included in this update.
This update also addresses touch unresponsiveness. Intermittent touch failures, which were observed specifically on the Pixel 10, should not be an issue anymore. Google has improved the experience in that regard.
The last changelog entry has to do with cached content access. Some users were unable to access locally stored content after upgrading from Android 14 or earlier OS version directly to Android 16. That should also not be a problem anymore.
More information could surface moving forward, but these are the only changelog entries that we have thus far. And yes, this update will be making its way to non-Verizon users as well, if it’s not doing so already.
