If you have a need for an extra line but don’t want to pay for it, then you’re in luck. According to a TMO Report , T-Mobile is bringing back its free lines promo for customers once again.
T-Mobile giving out free lines
The idea of T-Mobile handing out free lines to customers isn’t new. In fact, during the carrier ’s “Un-Carrier” days, the company’s “Line On Us” promo was actually pretty common. These days, it hasn’t happened as frequently. And when it does, there are a lot of restrictions that disqualify a good number of customers.
We’re not sure what kind of requirements are needed to qualify for this new free line promo , but the TMO report claims that customers need to have at least two paid lines on their account. However, this is a pretty standard requirement that T-Mobile has used in the past. As for other requirements, there’s apparently a $35 connection fee, and that’s about it. Also, we’re not sure how many free lines users are allowed to have on their accounts.
This means that if you’ve received free lines from T-Mobile in the past, there’s a good chance you might not qualify this time round. However, customers that are eligible should receive a notice in the T-Mobile app informing them about it. They can then proceed to follow the instructions to redeem it. The report notes that users cannot redeem it via T-Life.
It’s weird given how much T-Mobile has been pushing customers to use the app. Instead, customers will have to redeem it either in-store or via support.
What’s the catch?
The report does not mention what the catch is for this promo. However, based on the most recent T-Mobile free line promo, there is usually bound to be some fine print involved . In the latest free line promo, it indicated that users who accepted the free line will not qualify for free phones, upgrades, or other promos in the future.
Also, there’s a very good chance this could be a BYOD offer. This means that you cannot finance a new phone on this free line and will have to use your own. Either way, it’s something to take note of if you do receive the offer.

It is unclear how T-Mobile deems which customers are eligible. The posts suggest that these customers are all on different plans. We’re talking about ONE, Go5G, Go5G Plus, and the legacy Sprint Unlimited Freedom plan.
However, if you already have two free lines on your account or you added one earlier this year, then you might not be eligible for this promo. Also, customers who are on price lock plans might not be eligible for this deal either. But if you are curious, you can always check with the carrier.
You can do so by messaging T-Mobile’s customer service or heading to your local T-Mobile store. According to this Reddit comment , you can ask the customer service rep to check if there’s a “September 2025 BYOD” verified status on your plan. If there is, then you might be able to get an extra line for free.
But there’s a catch
Also, you will need to bring your own device. If you were hoping to score a free phone, think again. Don’t forget that it’s not completely free either. You’ll have to pay for a $10 device connection charge, as well as additional taxes and fees on the line. However, if you’re merely using this as an extra line for business purposes, we suppose it’s not a bad deal.
