The problem with headphones is that it’s hard to share music with someone else . You could always use your phone’s speaker, but the quality of those speakers doesn’t give that same oomph a pair of good headphones would. But that’s a problem TDM thinks it has solved with its Neo hybrid headphone speaker, which it announced at CES 2026 .
Two devices in one
The TDM Neo is possibly the first pair of headphones we’ve come across that transforms into a speaker with a simple twist. The device packs four 40mm drivers, with two facing inward for headphone mode and two facing outward for speaker mode. When you’re wearing them as headphones, you get clean, detailed sound. But when it’s time to party, twist them into speaker mode, and they put out impressive volume despite being small enough to fit in your hand.
The headphones are built with comfort in mind. They feature dual-layer memory foam ear cushions and a soft vegan leather headband cover for extended listening sessions. The headband is adjustable so you can find the right fit. TDM also included simple physical controls with four buttons that let you turn the headphones on and off, adjust the volume, and switch between modes.
If you prefer, you can customize the twist feature itself. If you don’t want it to turn into a speaker, no problem. You can configure it to pause music, power off, or switch between audio modes. The headphones offer Bluetooth 6.0 connectivity, which means smooth pairing and compatibility with both new and older Bluetooth devices.
Battery life that lasts
Battery life is an area where the TDM Neo headphones stand out. The company claims you can get over 200 hours in headphone mode and 10 hours in speaker mode. We haven’t tested it out for ourselves, but if that’s true, that’s seriously impressive. Especially compared to most wireless headphones on the market today. Plus, with USB-C fast charging, you just need five minutes to squeeze out an extra eight hours of playback.
The Neo is priced at $249 and comes in black and white. It’ll be available for pre-order on Kickstarter later this month.
