Update : Apparently, the OnePlus 15 “Dune” color will be called “Sand Storm” in the US and potentially other markets outside of China.
OnePlus shows off the new official color for the OnePlus 15 in an official unboxing video . OnePlus also shows off what comes in the box, including the USB-C cable, charger, case, and the SIM ejection tool. This means that the OnePlus 15 keeps the SIM tray.
In its post on Weibo, OnePlus says, “From the untouchable world of aliens to holding the original colors of the universe in your palm, this is a journey through the senses. OnePlus 15 Original Color Dune, see you next month.”
This likely means that the OnePlus 15 will be announced in China in October and come to other markets later on. This is quite normal for OnePlus and other Chinese brands.
This dune color is a sort of beige that looks quite nice, especially with the black cameras and other sensors on the back of the phone. The contrast really stands out. Though it’s unlikely that OnePlus will only offer the 15 in a single color. This is most likely their hero color for the OnePlus 15.
OnePlus 15 will run on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5
OnePlus had already confirmed that the OnePlus 15 would run on the new Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 which was announced last week in Maui. This is a pretty powerful chip, that runs at a max speed of 4.6GHz, and can score over 4 million on AnTuTu benchmark.
Unfortunately, the company hasn’t yet announced any other specs for the upcoming device. But knowing OnePlus , we are expecting a huge battery. The OnePlus 13 had a 6,000mAh capacity battery, so it wouldn’t be surprising to see OnePlus hit over 7,000mAh for the 15. It is also going to ditch Hasselblad, and OnePlus announced its new OnePlus DetailMax Engine , which will power the cameras on the OnePlus 15. We can also see in the video that there is no Hasselblad branding. So that seems to be sticking with OPPO exclusively, now.
