The Xiaomi 17 series includes the vanilla version, 17 Pro, 17 Pro Max, and the latest 17 Ultra . It appears that the lineup is not done yet. A new leak suggests that there’s a fifth variant in the works. Additionally, the leak also sheds light on some key specifications of the mysterious new Xiaomi 17 series phone.
New Xiaomi 17 series phone could be in the works
Prolific leaker Digital Chat Station on Weibo claims that testing of the new Xiaomi 17 series phone is currently underway. He says that it will be a “minor iteration,” but it’s unclear of what. How and where Xiaomi will place this new model is not clear at the moment.
As for the hardware specs, the new model is tipped to feature a 6.8-6.9-inch flat screen with ultra-narrow bezels. The Xiaomi 17 Pro Max and 17 Ultra also have 6.9-inch screens. So this new version should sit alongside them, at least in terms of display size.

Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 and Periscope telephoto lens
Furthermore, the new Xiaomi 17 phone may feature the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 SoC, similar to other phones in the series. The upcoming model could also get a periscope telephoto lens, just like the Pro and Ultra versions. That’s about it for the leak, as the rest of the details of the phone remain under wraps, for now.
Lastly, the leak claims the new Xiaomi phone will debut in the first half of 2026 (H1 2026). Considering the leak is accurate, it’s confusing as to why Xiaomi would want to bring a new iteration of its flagship line so quickly. Especially since the lineup hasn’t even yet debuted globally. Also, there doesn’t seem to be any standout specs on this new device.
Meanwhile, the Xiaomi 17 Ultra will launch globally in 2026, possibly in the first quarter (between January and March).
