Alongside the launch of the Xiaomi 15T series , Xiaomi has announced its next-generation OS for global markets, the HyperOS 3. The company kicked off the HyperOS 3 beta program based on Android 16 in August, but that was for China. The company will kick off the stable release of HyperOS 3 in October . The update brings a redesigned interface, new AI features, improved privacy protection, and much more.
HyperOS 3 brings a new home screen design and smoother system animations
Xiaomi HyperOS 3 brings a new home screen design with new icons and initiative widgets. The interface now appears cleaner. The company claims that over 100 system-wide animations are refined to offer smoother visuals and more fluid interactions. Xiaomi is copying Apple’s Dynamic Island, which it calls HyperIsland. This is a central hub for multitasking and updates. It shows live activities of apps and dynamic notifications for calls, music, charging, and schedules.
When recording a workout vlog, real-time workout stats can appear in the phone’s camera view. For Xiaomi tablets, the OS offers vertical split-screen multitasking with a new 1:9 ratio.

Deeper Google Gemini integration
HyperOS 3 brings a new Touch to Share function, allowing devices to instantly share media like photos and videos, files, and Wi-Fi passwords by tapping them together. This support even extends to Apple devices. Other Xiaomi HyperConnect features include the Home Screen+ for iPad to run Xiaomi phone apps with multitasking support. There’s cross-device unlocking through Touch ID or Face ID. You get Device Finder to locate Xiaomi devices quickly and a one-tap Hotspot connection with iPhones.
Xiaomi is also improving data protection through Unified Authentication Service, on-device, and cloud privacy computing. There’s cross-device biometric unlocking across the ecosystem, MiTEE-powered protocols for secure interconnectivity, and Edge-to-Cloud AI Data Security. HyperOS 3 brings new/improved AI features like AI Writing, AI Speech Recognition, AI Search, AI Translate, AI Dynamic Wallpapers, AI Cinematic Lock Screen, and Gallery Search.

HyperOS 3 global availability and eligible devices
The Xiaomi HyperOS 3 rollout will begin in October 2025, starting with the new Xiaomi 15T series. Eventually, it’ll roll out to more Xiaomi and Redmi phones, tablets, and wearables. Reportedly, select Xiaomi TVs will also get the HyperOS 3 upgrade. The updates could initially begin with China models and expand to global variants shortly after.
