After multiple leaks and rumors, Xiaomi has finally unveiled the China launch date of the Redmi Turbo 5 series. Per the company’s Weibo post, the Redmi Turbo 5 series will launch on January 29 . Last week, the company also confirmed that the Redmi Turbo 5 Max will feature a 9000mAh battery, confirming previous rumors from earlier this month .

Xiaomi will launch the Redmi Turbo 5 Pro & Turbo 5 Max in China soon, with the “Max” featuring near-flagship specs

For the uninitiated, the Redmi Turbo 5 series includes the Redmi Turbo 5 Pro and Turbo 5 Max. The 9,000mAh battery capacity is the biggest for any Xiaomi smartphone launched so far. To compare, the rumored Xiaomi 17 Max will reportedly feature an 8000mAh battery. Previously, Xiaomi also claimed that the Redmi Turbo 5 Max will offer battery life similar to that of smartphones with a 10,000mAh battery. That’s a big claim, but we can only tell if it’s true once real-life testing results are out.

Besides the launch date, Xiaomi has also confirmed two color options of the Redmi Turbo 5 Max. The device will be available in Ocean Breeze Blue and Sunrise Orange colors. The company’s Weibo post from last week also confirmed that the device will come with support for “flagship-level” 100W fast wired charging, 27W reverse charging, and Surge P3 charging technology.

Not to forget, the Redmi Turbo 5 will also be the first-ever smartphone to feature MediaTek’s Dimensity 9500s chipset . That’s the trimmed-down and more affordable variant of the Dimensity 9500. Unfortunately, there are no details about the “Pro” model yet.

Previously confirmed design and camera specs

As far as design is concerned, the Redmi Turbo 5 Max will feature a CNC metal frame . The phone will feature a fiberglass rear panel. Besides that, you’ll be greeted with a pill-shaped camera module that sports two rear sensors. That’s not all; the rear camera module shows off the “OIS Cam” and “50MP” engraved text, confirming pretty much everything about the primary sensor. There’s also a center-positioned punch-hole front camera for selfies. The display appears to have flat edges with minimal black bezels.

All that said, it’s unclear whether the Redmi Turbo 5 series will launch in the international market, similar to the Redmi Note 15 series. Moreover, preorders are now live for the Redmi Turbo 5 Max, while the pricing of the device is under wraps for now.
