Xiaomi followed Apple’s footprint by launching its latest flagship, the Xiaomi 17 series . The company skipped the Xiaomi 16 after the Xiaomi 15 models. In fact, it even named the top-end model in the series, the Xiaomi 17 Pro Max, drawing inspiration from Apple’s iPhone 17 models. A fresh leak now hints that the company might follow the same trend with its upcoming foldable as well, which could have the Xiaomi 17 Fold name.
Xiaomi 17 Fold could be the name of the brand’s next foldable
XiaomiTimes has spotted a new Xiaomi foldable on the IMEI database with the model number 26023PN08C. It reportedly has a codename “pecan.” What makes this interesting is that the company usually uses “PX’ codes for its Mix lineup. For instance, the Xiaomi Mix Fold 4 bears the model number 24072PX77C. The “PN” tag is typically associated with the main series, like the Xiaomi 17.
This led to speculations that Xiaomi’s next foldable could skip the Mix Fold 5/6 branding. Instead, it might go with the Xiaomi 17 Fold naming.
The foldable may debut in February 2026
Xiaomi usually launches its new foldable in July, but the new foldable may arrive in February 2026. It may debut alongside the Xiaomi 17 Ultra, possibly at the MWC 2026. Recent leaks claim the foldable could feature a 200MP Samsung S5KHP5 main camera, a 50MP OV50M ultra-wide-angle lens, and a 50MP OV50M sensor. It could house a 16MP OV16F front-facing camera.
Having said this, it’s unclear whether Xiaomi will indeed launch the foldable. This is considering the alleged Mix Fold 5 reportedly got certified, but hasn’t seen the light of day.
