CES 2026 is also home to important announcements related to home security. Now, it seems the conversation around the front door is shifting from how we lock our homes to how we enter them. Xthings has unveiled the ULTRALOQ Bolt Sense, Latch 7 Pro, and Bolt Mission smart locks. The lineup focus on “Smart Access”—a concept where the door recognizes you and opens naturally, rather than requiring you to fumble with a phone or a keypad.
This new lineup moves away from the traditional “workflow” of smart locks. It aims to offer an experience that feels almost invisible.
ULTRALOQ Bolt Sense with palm vein tech
The ULTRALOQ Bolt Sense could be the most interesting model that was announced. A lot of smart locks use fingerprints, but the Bolt Sense uses a dual-biometric method that combines 3D facial recognition with palm vein authentication.
Palm vein technology is especially interesting. It uses infrared light to read the unique patterns of veins under the skin. This means that the lock is much more forgiving in real life for the user. It can still tell who you are even if your hands are dirty or wet or if you’re carrying groceries. This is because it doesn’t need the same “perfect” surface contact that a regular fingerprint scanner does. The lock also has active approach sensing, which means it starts the authentication process as soon as you walk up, instead of waiting for you to wake it up.
This model is scheduled for release in the second quarter of 2026.

ULTRALOQ Latch 7 Pro with wide compatibility
The Latch 7 Pro is packed with connectivity options. It supports Matter over Thread for fast, local-first responsiveness, but it also includes support for the Z-Wave 800 Series. This is a major win for users with large properties, as Z-Wave’s long-range capabilities can often reach gates or detached garages where standard Wi-Fi might struggle. Additionally, Xthings is planning support for Aliro, a new industry standard. The latter will eventually allow for universal digital keys that work across different brands of locks and smartphones.

ULTRALOQ Bolt Mission with UWB support
Xthings also confirmed that the ULTRALOQ Bolt Mission UWB, which was first teased last year, is now officially available for $299. This lock uses Ultra-Wideband (UWB) technology to detect your precise location. UWB is the same tech that helps find lost AirTags and other trackers. Older “auto-unlock” solutions sometimes triggered while you were just sitting on your couch near the front door. Meanwhile, UWB is accurate down to the centimeter. It knows exactly which side of the door you are on and only unlocks when you are intentionally approaching from the outside.

Overall, Xthings’ new smart lock products aim to offer reliable functionality while solving the fragmentation that often plagues smart home setups.
