Security cameras can be more trouble than they’re worth. People often get annoyed by the constant “motion detected” alerts that come from a passing car or a tree branch that moves. Xthings is trying to fix this “information overload” problem at CES 2026 by introducing its new Ulticam lineup, including the IQ V2, IQ Floodlight and HaLow models. These products use Google Gemini to turn hours of raw footage into short, easy-to-understand summaries.
The company is expanding its “Intelligent Vision” ecosystem with three distinct hardware solutions aimed at different parts of the home.
Context over clips thanks to Gemini
The central update across the entire lineup is the shift from passive recording to what Xthings calls contextual AI tech . Instead of just showing you a list of 30-second clips, the system uses cloud-based intelligence to analyze what actually happened. For example, instead of seeing five separate alerts for a delivery, the AI can generate a concise summary. This summary can explain that someone left a package on your porch and the person stayed there for two minutes.
Ulticam IQ V2 and Ulticam IQ Floodlight
The brand has everything you need for outside security. The newest Ulticam IQ Floodlight has a powerful light source and a camera with a high resolution. It is made for places with a lot of foot traffic, like driveways or backyards. In addition to being a deterrent, the floodlight gives the AI enough visual information at night to keep it accurate when it comes to identifying people or vehicles.

Ulticam HaLow with Sub-GHz connectivity
Perhaps the most practical addition for larger properties is the Ulticam HaLow. Standard Wi-Fi cameras often struggle with signal strength once they are placed more than a few yards from a router. The HaLow system uses Sub-GHz connectivity, which penetrates walls better and covers much longer distances. It comes as a system with a dedicated hub that supports up to four cameras. This allows users to secure remote barns, gates, or detached garages without the need for Wi-Fi extenders or expensive wiring.
The Xthings Ulticam IQ Floodlight and Ulticam HaLow systems are expected to launch in the first quarter of 2026. In the meantime, the IQ V2 is currently entering the market as the brand’s flagship indoor/outdoor option.
